October Newsletter, Volume 1, Issue 3

Don't forget there is a troop meeting on Sunday at 5 pm. And we have a new home! The Kanapaha Presbyterian Church located at 6221 Southwest 75th Terrace. Gainesville, FL 32608 has welcomed our troop for meetings. They are thrilled to have us there. We are so excited to have a new place to meet. As a small fee, our troop will be providing a monthly service project for the church by helping pack lunches for their "Food for Kids Lunch" program. We will do this during the first 30 minutes of our troop meeting. Please arrive on time and ready to work.

 

A few reminders & updates:

1. Bring nut/candy order forms & print out girl report for magazines
2. Complete the Girl /Adult health forms
3. Each Girl Scout should bring their calendar to write down important dates and deadlines
4. Parents attending troop meetings, camp outs and driving girls to events must be registered and have a background screening. See the troop email from September 24th.
5. Jump Into Journeys has been canceled (10/20/12)
6. Bring camping fee ($20 per attendee) & complete the parent permission form (for 11/9/12-11/11/12). We will be working on several badges at this camp out. During the camp out, we will watch the Princess Diaries. It is rated "G." Please complete the permission form.
7. Complete the parent permission form if your scout is attending She's a Scientist 12/1/12
8. Complete the parent permission form if your scout is attending She's a Scientist 1/12/13
9. The blog will be updated tomorrow with a few at home badge activities that can be done in the month of October!
