The original plan for the February 10th meeting was for the girls to meet with the adults at the Publix in Tower Square to do some comparison shopping. However, due to February 22 being Thinking Day, we have changed the plan. We will meet at the church as usual at 5:00 PM. At our February meeting we will not only meet a new Girl Scout who will be joining our troop; but we will also work on our Thinking Day display. We will also work on the 2013 World Thinking Day Cadette Activities as well as the Girl Scouts Global Action Award. The Thinking Day event will be held at Queen of Peace on Saturday, February 23 from 12:30-2:30pm (set up at noon). The leaders expect every girl to attend on behalf of Troop 1085. Parent permission forms will be distributed at our next troop meeting. Each girl should bring 1 penny for each inch of her height (e.g. 4ft tall = 48 pennies). This money is donated to the Juliette Low World Friendship Fund. Girls do not have to be there for the entire 12:30-2:30 pm time, but can stay for a minimum of 1 hour.
Service Unit Camp Out
The Lake Kanapaha Service Unit is hosting the Father Daughter Camp Out April 5-7th, 2013. Girls, if you are interested in attending with your dad, I can email you the event flyer. Remember, all parents that attend camp outs, etc must be registered and complete the background screening process!
If you do not want to participate in the activities, but would like to volunteer for the weekend or the day - PLEASE LET US KNOW IMMEDIATELY!!! This is a great volunteer opportunity for those who need hours.
